Andra's Cancer Wishlist

Hello! My name is Andra (pronounced like Sandra but without the "S"). I'm 32 and before I was diagnosed in June 2024 with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer I was a preschool teacher's assistant. So far I have had 6 months of IV chemo and a single mastectomy. Unfortunately the chemo didn't do as much as we would have liked and then I had a reaction to the immunotherapy after my surgery. They were several complications but one of the main one was that my immune system decided to attack my lungs! Once we get this figured out I will possibly be doing 6 months of an oral chemo and then radiation. I have recently spent a collective 30 days in the hospital as the doctors try to puzzle me out. This has delayed next cancer treatment by about 2-3 months. Over the period of treatment fatigue has been my biggest issue. I use to chase toddlers 8 hours a day, play with my 80lb dog, paint, have craft days with friends, and apparently I was the only adult in the house who did the dishes... The fatigue has been very discouraging for me and I'm anxious to get back to my normal energy levels. Although that seems very far off. My goal is to be able to go paddle boarding at the lake again! With the previous chemo plan I was hoping to be on the lake this summer, but maybe summer 2026 I will be able to. Even though I don't have a lot of energy I still try to paint as much as I can!
